PREPARATION:
- To toast nuts, cook and stir in medium skillet over medium heat 9 to 12 minutes until light golden brown. Transfer to small bowl.
- Sprinkle sugar evenly over bottom of skillet. Cook, without stirring, 2 to 4 minutes until sugar is melted. Remove from heat.
- Quickly add nuts to skillet; sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg, if desired. Return to heat; stir until nuts are coated with melted sugar mixture. Transfer to plate; cool completely.
- Place nuts on cutting board; coarsely chop. Store in airtight container up to 2 weeks.
