Faisalabad (formerly Lyallpur), Pakistan, a city in Punjab province, in the northeastern part of the country. It is in a major wheat- and cotton-producing area and is known for its production of textiles and processed foods. The University of Agriculture, founded in 1909, is here. The city was settled in the 1890's.
