Geography of Enfield

Enfield, Connecticut, a town in Hartford County, 15 miles (24 km) north of Hartford. Enfield is on the Connecticut River near the Massachusetts state line. It includes the industrial villages of Thompsonville and Hazardville. Factories here produce carpets, hardware, and woolens. Enfield was settled about 1680, and was part of Massachusetts until 1749. It has the council-manager form of government.
