Geography of Keene

Keene, New Hampshire, the seat of Cheshire County. It is on the Ashuelot River, about 40 miles (64 km) southwest of Concord. Textiles, furniture, machinery, wood products, and shoes are among its manufactured products. The city is a summer and winter resort. Keene State College is here. Keene was incorporated as a town in 1753 and as a city in 1874.
