Coney Island
Coney Island, a beach and amusement center in the southern part of Brooklyn borough, New York City. On a hot summer day more than a million people come to the beach and to attractions on the two-mile (3-km) boardwalk. Coney Island was once a small island but is now part of Long Island. It became a resort in the 1840's.
