Geography of Kenosha

Kenosha, Wisconsin, the seat of Kenosha County. The city is on Lake Michigan about 32 miles (51 km) south of Milwaukee. Kenosha is an industrial city, with a fine harbor and good railway facilities. Products include automobile engines, dairy supplies, machinery, metal products, tools, and wire rope. Kenosha is the seat of Carthage College, and the Parkside campus of the University of Wisconsin is nearby. Settlement of the area began about 1835.
