Geography of Minot
Minot, North Dakota, the seat of Ward County. It is 100 miles (160 km) north-northwest of Bismarck, on the Souris (Mouse) River. Minot is the trade and processing center of a large area that produces grain, livestock, coal, and oil. It is the site of Minot State University and of the North Dakota State Fair. Minot Air Force Base is nearby. Minot was founded in 1886.
