Geography of Aurora-Illinois

Aurora, Illinois, a city in Kane County. It lies on the Fox River 34 miles (55 km) west of downtown Chicago. Aurora is a diversified industrial center, producing a wide variety of consumer and industrial products. Railway repair shops and freight yards are here. The city is the seat of Aurora University. Aurora was first settled in 1834 and incorporated in 1857. It has the mayor-council form of government.
