Geography of Netzahualcoyotl
Netzahualcóyotl, the third largest city in Mexico and an eastern suburb of Mexico City, the national capital. Netzahualcóyotl is in Mexico State and occupies land reclaimed by draining old Lake Texcoco. Much of the city lacks adequate public services and consists mainly of slums. Settlement of the area began early in the 20th century and the municipality of Netzahualcóyotl was incorporated in 1963.
