Lake Como
Como, Lake, a lake in northern Italy famed for its beauty. It lies in Lombardy at the edge of the Alps, surrounded by high peaks. The lake is slightly more than 2 1/2 miles (4 km) wide and 30 miles (48 km) long; its maximum depth, 1,345 feet (410 m), is the greatest of any lake in Europe.
