Lake Malaren
Mälaren, Lake, a lake in southeastern Sweden. It stretches westward for 70 miles (113 km) from Stockholm, which lies on a strait linking the lake with the Baltic Sea. There are more than 1,000 islands in the lake, which covers an area of 440 square miles (1,140 km2).
