Windermere

Windermere, England's largest lake. It lies in the southern part of Cumbria County. The lake is 10 1/2 miles (17 km) long and 1 mile (1.6 km) wide. It is fed by several small streams and is drained by the Leven into Morecambe Bay. Because of the beauty of its setting in the Lake District's wooded hills, it is called "Queen of Lakes."
