Geography of Amagasaki

Amagasaki, Japan, a city in Hyogo Prefecture, on southwestern Honshu. It lies on Osaka Bay, an arm of the Inland Sea. The city is about four miles (6 km) northwest of downtown Osaka, of which it is an industrial suburb. Amagasaki's factories produce chemicals, machinery, textiles, glass, and fabricated iron and steel goods. The city suffered severe damage from Allied bombings during World War II.
