Geography of Hamamatsu
Hamamatsu, Japan, a city in Shizuoka prefecture on the south coast of Honshu, about midway between Tokyo and Osaka. It is primarily a railway and highway transportation center and a manufacturing city. Products include musical instruments, especially pianos and organs; motor vehicles; and textiles. Hamamatsu grew around a castle on the old Tokaido Road, which connected Kyoto (the old capital) with Edo (now Tokyo).
