Geography of Takamatsu

Takamatsu, Japan, the capital and principal port of Kagawa Prefecture. It is on the northeastern coast of Shikoku, on the Inland Sea, and is connected with Honshu by railroad ferry. Takamatsu is the manufacturing center of the island. In feudal times, it was the seat of the Matsudaira family. Ritsurin Park, once the Matsudaira estate, is noted for its gardens.
