Veronica
Veronica, or Speedwell, a group of plants that grow mostly in temperate areas of the world. There are both annual and perennial species of veronica. Hungarian speedwell and cat's-tail speedwell are common garden plants. Both grow 12 to 20 inches (30 to 50 cm) tall. Spikes of closely set flowers appear in summer; they are usually blue or purple, but they also can be pink or white.
About 250 species make up the genus Veronica of the figwort family, Scrophulariaceae. Hungarian speedwell is V. latifolia; cat's-tail, V. spicata.
