Jackfruit
Jackfruit (also Jaca, Jack, or Jak), an East Indian tree cultivated for its edible fruit. The tree grows to a height of about 50 feet (15 m). Its oblong, greenish-yellow fruit reaches a length of two feet (60 cm) and a weight of 60 pounds (27 kg). The pulp and seeds are edible. The wood of the tree is durable and is used to make furniture and a yellow dye.
The jackfruit is Artocarpus heterophyllus of the mulberry family, Moraceae.
