Furze
Furze, (also called Gorse or Whin), an ornamental, spiny shrub of the pea family. There are about 20 species. Furze is a bushy perennial two to four feet (60 to 120 cm) high. It requires a moderate to warm climate. The dark-green, erect stem is almost leafless. Showy, two-lipped yellow flowers grow at the ends of the twigs. The pod fruit contains small, oval, dark-brown seeds.
The common furze is Ulex europaeus of the family Leguminosae.
