Geography of Sparks
Sparks, Nevada, a city in Washoe County, four miles (6 km) east of downtown Reno. Sparks is a residential community and a warehousing and wholesale distribution point. A museum of antique and classic automobiles is here. The city was founded in 1904 by the Southern Pacific Railroad. It was named for John Sparks, who was then governor of Nevada.
