Gulfport, Mississippi, the seat of Harrison County. It is a port and a year-round resort on the Gulf of Mexico, 10 miles (16 km) west of downtown Biloxi. Gulfport is a trade center and has a variety of manufacturing industries. Attractions include a saltwater aquarium, camellia gardens, and a sand beach 28 miles (45 km) long. Gulfport was founded in 1884.
