Geography of Kenner
Kenner, Louisiana, a city in Jefferson Parish. It lies just west of New Orleans between the Mississippi River and Lake Pontchartrain. Kenner is a residential suburb with numerous industries, many of which relate to petroleum and natural gas. New Orleans International Airport and Jefferson Downs, a thoroughbred racetrack, are here. Kenner was founded in 1852 and remained a small trade center for a productive agricultural area until after World War II, when rapid growth began. It was incorporated in 1952.
