Jonesboro, Arkansas, the seat of Craighead County. It is 115 miles (185 km) northeast of Little Rock and 60 miles (97 km) northwest of Memphis, Tennessee. Jonesboro is served by rail and air. Products include electric motors, shoes, plumbing fixtures, and rice by-products. Arkansas State University is here. Jonesboro was founded in 1859 and incorporated in 1903.
