Geography of Brunswick
Brunswick, Georgia, the seat of Glynn County and a port of entry. It is on St. Simons Sound, eight miles (13 km) from the Atlantic Ocean and 65 miles (105 km) southwest of Savannah. Brunswick is a center for freezing, packing, and canning such seafoods as shrimp and crab. Pine-tree products, mainly pulp, plywood, and paper, are produced. There are several shipyards. Nearby are Sea Island, a tourist resort; and Fort Frederica National Monument. Brunswick was founded in 1771.
