Geography of Kannapolis
Kannapolis, North Carolina, the largest unincorporated community in the state. It is situated in Cabarrus and Rowan counties about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Charlotte. Kannapolis is owned by Cannon Mills, a textile manufacturing company. The community was founded in 1906 by J. W. Cannon.
