Geography of Hopkinsville
Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the seat of Christian County, in the southwestern part of the state. The city is a leading tobacco market and produces wire, clothing, and light fixtures. Nearby are Fort Campbell, one of the nation's largest army bases, and Jefferson Davis Monument State Shrine, a tower that marks Davis's birthplace. The city was incorporated in 1804. It has the mayor-council form of government.
