Dothan, Alabama, the seat of Houston County. It is in southeastern Alabama, 15 miles (24 km) north of the Florida state line. Dothan is a trade and shipping center for a livestock-raising and farming area. The city produces food products, metal products, lumber, and transportation equipment. Dothan was chartered in 1885.
