The Nelson River

Nelson River, a river in Manitoba, Canada. From its source at Lake Winnipeg, it flows generally northeastward for about 400 miles (644 km) to Hudson Bay. Lake Winnipeg and the Nelson and Saskatchewan rivers form a 1,600-mile (2,575-km) river system that drains much of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. The Nelson was a route for early fur traders.
