, Ontario, the seat of Wellington County, 45 miles (72 km) west of Toronto. The Speed and Eramosa rivers join here. Products include electrical supplies, textiles, iron and steel products, leather goods, and foods. The University of Guelph, established in 1964, includes Ontario Agricultural College, Macdonald Institute (for home economics), and Ontario Veterinary College. Guelph was founded in 1827.
