Geography of Orenburg
Orenburg, Russia, a city and the administrative center for Orenburg Oblast. It is on the Ural River, about 750 miles (1,200 km) southeast of Moscow. Products include leather, silk, and machinery. There are flour mills and meat-packing plants here. Orenburg was founded in 1735. The city was called Chkalov from 1938 to 1958.
