Geography of Meerut
Meerut, India, a city in the state of Uttar Pradesh, about 40 miles (65 km) northeast of Delhi. It is a railway and road junction. It also is a trading and manufacturing center. The Indian (or Sepoy) Mutiny began here in 1857.
