Geography of Goa
Goa, an Indian state on the country's west coast. Goa covers about 1,350 square miles (3,500 km2). The port of Panaji is the capital and largest city. Goa was held by the Portuguese from 1510 until 1961, when it was seized by India and incorporated into a union territory. Goa became a state in 1987.
