Murrumbidgee
Murrumbidgee River, a major river in Australia and a part of the Murray-Darling system. It begins in the Great Dividing Range in southeastern New South Wales and flows generally westward for about 980 miles (1,575 km) to join the Murray River on the Victoria border. The Murrumbidgee and its chief tributary, the Lachlan River, are important sources of hydroelectric power and water for irrigation.
