Geography of Klamath Falls

Klamath Falls, Oregon, the seat of Klamath County. It is on the east slope of the Cascades, 4,105 feet (1,251 m) above sea level, at the southern tip of Upper Klamath Lake, in extreme southern Oregon. The surrounding agricultural area produces potatoes, grain, cattle, and sheep. Lumber milling and the manufacture of wood products are the chief industries. The Oregon Institute of Technology is here. Crater Lake National Park, about 50 miles (80 km) to the north, makes Klamath Falls a popular resort center. The city was settled about 1866.
