Geography of Kingsport

Kingsport, Tennessee, a city in Sullivan and Hawkins counties, in the northeastern part of the state. Kingsport lies on the Holston River and is encircled by the Cumberland and Blue Ridge mountains. Two Tennessee Valley Authority dams are nearby. Its main industries are the manufacture of film, textiles, and plastics, and printing and publishing. Kingsport was settled in 1761 and incorporated in 1917.
