Cape Henry

Cape Henry, a point of land at the entrance to Chesapeake Bay, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. On April 26, 1607, the first permanent English settlers landed here before sailing up the James River to found Jamestown. Cape Henry Memorial, on Fort Story Military Reservation, is a stone cross on the approximate site of the landing. The memorial is part of Colonial National Historical Park.
