Geography of Nashua
Nashua, New Hampshire, the seat of Hillsborough County. It is at the junction of the Nashua and Merrimack rivers, 15 miles (24 km) south of Manchester. It is the second largest city in the state. Nashua produces electronic equipment, shoes, lumber, and hardware. Daniel Webster and Rivier colleges are here.
What is now Nashua was founded in 1655 and called Dunstable until 1836. It was a center of the textile industry in the 19th century. A fire in 1930 destroyed large sections of the city.
