Geography of Grand Island
Grand Island, Nebraska, the seat of Hall County. It is in the east-central part of the state, in a farming and ranching area, and it has various manufacturing industries. The city was founded in 1857 and was named after an island in the nearby Platte River. It was incorporated in 1872.
