Janesville, Wisconsin, the seat of Rock County. Janesville is on the Rock River, 62 miles (100 km) southwest of Milwaukee, in the heart of a dairying region. The city has grain mills, and factories producing pens, automobiles, metal goods, and food products. Janesville was settled in 1835.
