Basajoz
Badajoz, Spain, the capital of the province of Badajoz. It is on the Guadiana River, 120 miles (195 km) northwest of Seville. Located near the Portuguese border, it is an important center of Spanish-Portuguese trade. Liquors, soaps, and textiles are the main products. The city was the capital of a Moorish kingdom during the 11th century and reflects Moorish influence in its architecture.
