Iberia

Iberia, the ancient Greek name for the Iberian Peninsula, the peninsula of Europe occupied by Spain and Portugal. It was named for the Iberians, people who occupied the eastern part of Spain. They eventually merged with Celts who invaded Iberia in the seventh and sixth centuries B.C.

Iberia was also the ancient name for a region in the Caucasus, now mainly part of Georgia.
