Tilburg, Netherlands, a city in Noord (North) Brabant Province about six miles (10 km) from the Belgian border. Tilburg is an industrial city, producing primarily woolen cloth. Canals provide access to the Maas (Meuse) and the Rhine, two of the busiest rivers in Europe.

The city hall was built as a royal palace in the 19th century. Tilburg has an economic institute, three museums, and a zoo. The city's recorded history dates back as far as 709. Tilburg has been self-governing since 1453 and a city since 1809.
