Mannheim, Germany, a city in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is 44 miles (71 km) south of Frankfurt, in a region of vineyards. Mannheim is at the junction of the Rhine and Neckar Rivers and is a major inland port and a rail and road center. Products include farm machinery, metal goods, chemicals, and foods. Mannheim was chartered in the early 1600's.
