Geography of Freiburg
Freiburg, or Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany, a city in the state of Baden-Württemberg. It is on the Dreisam River, 170 miles (274 km) west of Munich. Freiburg is a cultural and tourist center. Its factories produce textiles, machines, precision instruments, paper, and beer.
Freiburg was founded and chartered in 1120. Its cathedral dates from 1200 and the university was founded in 1457.
