Cienfuegos
Cienfuegos, Cuba, a city in Las Villas Province. It is on Cienfuegos, or Jagua, Bay on the southern coast of the island, 140 miles (225 km) southeast of Havana. Cienfuegos is Cuba's most important sugar port. Other exports are molasses, coffee, tobacco, rice, and sisal. Cigars, liquors, soft drinks, canned fish, and bricks are manufactured here. The city has attractive parks, boulevards, and picturesque buildings. It was founded in the 16th century.
