The Allegheny River
Allegheny River, a river in Pennsylvania and New York, about 325 miles (523 km) long. From its source in north-central Pennsylvania, the Allegheny flows northwestward into New York, then southwestward back into Pennsylvania, and through the northwestern part of the state. At Pittsburgh, it joins the Monongahela River, forming the Ohio River.
