The Ouse River
Ouse River, the name of several rivers in England. The longest, also called the Great Ouse, begins in the Midlands north of Oxford and flows northeastward past Bedford before entering The Fens, a fertile farming area of drained marshland. It continues northward past King's Lynn and empties into The Wash, a shallow arm of the North Sea. It is 160 miles (257 km) long. Chief tributaries are the Tove, Kym, Cam, Little Ouse, and Nar rivers. Another Ouse River, about 60 miles (97 km) long, is in North Yorkshire.
