The Marne River

Marne River, a river of northeastern France. It is 325 miles (523 km) long, flows generally northward and then westward, and is navigable for more than 200 miles (320 km). The Marne passes Chaumont, Châlons, Épernay, Château-Thierry, and Meaux before joining the Seine in the suburbs of Paris. Two major World War I battles were fought along the Marne.
