Geography of Makeyevka
Makeyevka Ukraine, a city in the Donets basin about 380 miles (610 km) southeast of Kiev, the national capital. Makeyevka is a major center for iron and steel production and coal mining. The city was founded in 1899 as a settlement for steel-workers. In World War II it was occupied by the Germans during 1941-43.
