Geography of Gorlovka
Gorlovka, Ukraine, a city in the Donets Basin—the largest coal-producing area in Ukraine and a major center for heavy industry. Gorlovka's main industries produce machinery, especially mining machinery; coke for iron making; and various chemicals.
Gorlovka was settled in the late 1860's. Its population grew rapidly with the development of heavy industry in the Donets Basin, beginning in the 1930's.
