The Sikhote Alin Range
Sikhote Alin Range, a mountain range in southeastern Siberia. It extends along the Sea of Japan for about 650 miles (1,050 km), roughly from the mouth of the Amur River to Vladivostok, and is up to 160 miles (260 km) wide. The range attains a maximum elevation of slightly less than 6,600 feet (2,000 m). Heavily forested, the Sikhote Alin is an important lumbering area. The range also contains valuable mineral deposits, especially lead and zinc.
